The number one question:
How did you get into this career?

Contrary to what most assume of hairstylists, I never cut my Barbie's hair. I liked their hair. I especially admired the two or three brunettes (like me) among a majority of silky blondes. I vaguely recall a redhead, and a mermaid whose hair fell to her ankles. The blunt bangs, the incredible shine. Earlier ones were more golden blonde with a bit of curl, and blue eyeliner. Later versions were straight and veered towards platinum. The more modern ones seemed to have been introduced to foil highlights. The nuances I recognized on Barbie dolls as a little girl are the same things that fascinate me about hair today. Ultimately, it's one of those things where you can't see yourself doing anything else.
